First Friday

The April 5 First Friday event will be the culmination of our series on Tacoma Pierce County’s top youth issues and will feature an organization that has been at the forefront of community organizing. Safe Streets was born as a grassroots initiative in 1989, empowering neighbors to take charge and make change. For over thirty years, Safe Streets has engaged thousands of neighborhood members, community partners, and youth in proven and research-based strategies designed to build community capacity and increase public safety. Executive Director Dr. Nora Flemming de Sandoval will be our chief resource person for this discussion. Plan to attend, bring your questions and be prepared to be challenged.
