A culture of violence in Tacoma-Pierce County?

Over the years we have become accustomed to seeing our community in the news for a string of horrific events ranging from child abuse and murder, serial killing, sidewalk and neighborhood shootings to domestic assault and other assorted violence. What is it about our area that engenders such aberrant behavior?  What can be done, if anything, to change our local culture and raise expectations for the future?

Join First Friday to discuss these vital issues with resource persons Safe Streets Executive Priscilla Lissisich, (Class IV), Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor (Class IX) and Tacoma Police Captain Bart Hayes (Class XVIII and ALF Board Member).   Here is your chance to get on top of what is being done, what barriers exist and where/how you could help.

No charge to attend and no registration requested. Food and drink available from the menu. All classes welcome!
