DESCRIPTION:After a 2-year hiatus, ALF’s perennially popular First Friday event will resume on Friday May 6th, 7:30 – 8:45 a.m. at Ben Dew’s Clubhouse Grill (6501 6th Avenue, Tacoma). This is a free event, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED (see below) for either in-person or virtual options.\nTacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards (XII) will join us for a conversation about the critical issues facing Pierce County’s largest city. In her 2022 State of the City address, “Stronger, Many Voices, One Community”, Mayor Woodards touched on public safety, pandemic recovery, homelessness, and housing. You will want to hear about and discuss how these issues, and others, are developing. This is Victoria’s second term as Mayor, a position to which she was first elected in 2018. Prior to that she served as an at-large member of the City Council for seven years and is in an excellent position to share her knowledge of Tacoma’s challenges, progress, and opportunities.\nThe event will be held in a private room where food/drink can be ordered from the menu.
